The article discusses the issues of Comparative Study of kinship terms and understanding of their meaning. The comparative study of linguistic units, including kinship terms, also provides an opportunity to correctly understand their meaning. The study of the structural-semantic organization of the conditions of family kinship in Uzbek and English is of great importance in the presentation of certain methods of nomination. In this article, the kinship term "husband" in both languages is drawn to the analysis. It is concluded that the terminology of kinship is an important ethnographic and historical resource of a complex nature, which is of great interest not only among linguists, but also among ethnologists, ethnographers, historians and scientists in the field of Humanities in general.
