Abstract

 ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the specifics of orthographic changes in the composition of varied colloquial expressions, considering the influence of phonetic-phonological features of colloquial speech. The study also examines the lexical and semantic features of
colloquialisms, considering the hidden meaning of symbolic images, linguocultural and other associations. The author of the article describes the grammatical originality of colloquial expressions with varying parts of speech in the structural composition of certain varieties of the English language. The author pays special attention to the analysis of classification parameters for the study of colloquial expressions with modification of the structural base according to the associative characteristics of the component composition. Individual examples are studied based on thematic classification of the implicit meaning of colloquial expressions. The researcher focuses on the specifics of presenting a variable component as part of a dictionary entry of a lexicographic source, focused on substandard and colloquial vocabulary of modern English. The problems of distinguishing the composition of a colloquial phrase into a constant and variable part are touched upon when studying changes in individual morphemes, parts of speech, replacement with synonymous alternatives, predicting the occurrence of single and multi replacements. When studying variations in component composition, etymological data is considered, including explanations of gender, cultural and other substitutions.
