This article is dedicated to the study of one of the past tense forms in the German language – the plusquamperfect – focusing on its etymology and usage in German linguistics. The author analyzes the views of both international and German linguists on the plusquamperfect form and examines how this tense has been studied by scholars from different perspectives.
