Abstract

ABSTRACT

The article is devoted to the study of German-Uzbek linguistic and cultural relations, as well as the issue of preserving the purity of language in these languages, the formation of purism, the factors causing it, and the stages of the purist movement. The relevance of the study is determined by the analysis of such issues as maintaining the purity of languages, protecting them from foreign words, strengthening the status of national languages as independent cultural languages. The purpose of the study is to study the formation, stages of development and manifestations of purism in the German and Uzbek languages in a comparative aspect, to determine general similarities and differences. The study used a number of linguistic research methods, such as descriptive, comparative-historical and comparative-contrastive. Basically, according to the results of a comparative study, the purist movement in the German and Uzbek languages is caused by fear of the native language, in both purist movements there is a close connection between purism and nationalism, in the issue of methodological interpretation of the problem of foreign words and the attempts of both purist movements to create language communities have common traits. At the same time, the research has confirmed the presence of distinctive features in the actions taken to preserve the purity of the German and Uzbek languages.
