THE ROLE OF FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN THE MECHANISM OF CONTROL OVER STATE BODIES

The article is devoted to the study of the role of freedom of speech in ensuring public control over the activities of government agencies. The purpose of the work is to analyze the legal mechanisms for the realization of the right to information and to assess their effectiveness in the context of ensuring transparency of public administration. The article examines international standards, national legislation and the possibilities of its application, and the obligations of government agencies to proactively disclose information. Special attention is paid to the analysis of Uzbekistan’s legislation on the openness of government agencies and the current situation with the number of media outlets and government policy on freedom of speech.
