LEGAL FOUNDATIONS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION IN CITIES AND WAYS TO IMPROVE THEM

This article provides an in-depth analysis of the current legal foundations for environmental protection in urban areas. It examines the environmental legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Urban Planning Code, the Laws "On Nature Protection", "On Environmental Control", and other relevant normative-legal acts. The article highlights legal mechanisms for addressing ecological problems in cities. It also proposes ways to improve the system, such as aligning environmental legislation with international standards, strengthening environmental control at the local level, and enhancing cooperation between citizens and local authorities. Based on the results of the research, legal recommendations and proposals aimed at ensuring environmental safety have been developed.
