SURGICAL TREATMENT OF COMPLICATED DYSTOPIAN OS ODONTOIDEUM (LITERATURE REVIEW)
Keywords:
cervical myelopathy, dystopiс Os odontoideum, atlanto-axial instability, posterior stabilizationAbstract
This article presents the case of a 35-year-old woman with dystopian Os odontoideum who presents with symptoms of progressively increasing cervical myelopathy with no apparent history of trauma. Diagnosis revealed atlanto-axial instability and the patient underwent posterior C1-C2 stabilization, which led to improvement. A review of the literature was carried out and methods of diagnosis and treatment of dystopian Os odontoideum were discussed.
