According to statistics, the frequency of injuries and accidents in the world ranks third among the causes of death after cardiovascular and tumor diseases. And in the structure of the factors of the population's disability and temporary loss of working capacity it ranks second. Nowadays the frequency of injuries of maxillofacial region (MFR) is regularly increasing - their share in the total number of injuries is 6-8% per year on average. Statistics show that in large cities, the number of injuries to the maxillofacial region accompanied by fractures of the bones of the facial skeleton has increased significantly and covers up to 42 percent of hospitalizations. WHO states that injuries kill 350,000 people of working age every year and 7.3 million injured people are condemned to disability.
