Abstract

Neurogenic deformities in children remain an important challenge in pediatric neurology, orthopedics and rehabilitation medicine. Deformities caused by central and peripheral nervous system disorders lead to motor impairment, disability and reduced quality of life. This review summarizes current data on epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnostic approaches and treatment strategies for neurogenic deformities in children. Special attention is paid to neurological examination, neurophysiological assessment, neuroimaging techniques and multidisciplinary rehabilitation. Modern approaches including pharmacotherapy, orthotic management, botulinum toxin therapy, physical rehabilitation and surgical correction are discussed.
