CLINICAL FEATURES OF DIABETIC POLYNEUROPATHY IN TYPE I DIABETES MELLITUS

The work is based on the data of the survey results, dynamic observation of 70 patients with type 1 diabetes aged 16 to 82 years (average age - 55.6 ± 10.1 years), among them women - 71.8%, men - 27.8%, the average duration of diabetes - 8.2 ± 2.6 years. Most often, patients complained of numbness in the feet area 28.6%, complaints of pain in the legs were presented in 26.9%, complaints of burning in the feet area - 21.2%, complaints of paresthesia in the feet - 15.8% of patients. In type 1 diabetes, the prevalence of DPN was 68.3%, of which subclinical DPN - in 46.8%, symptomatic DPN - in 22.5%. With a duration of diabetes up to 5 years, symptomatic DP is detected in 6% of patients, with a duration of diabetes from 5 to 10 years in 14.7% of patients, with a duration of diabetes of more than 10 years in 37.8% of patients.
