The coronavirus pandemic caused by the new strain of SARS-CoV-2 has led to long-term health consequences. The main symptoms of COVID-19 are described as fever, cough, myalgia, headache, sore throat, which in acute cases can lead to acute respiratory distress syndrome, "cytokine storm" and multiple organ failure, leading to death. A recent meta-analysis showed that the prevalence of ocular symptoms reaches 5%, with 28% occurring even without any systemic symptoms of COVID-19.
