The article describes the carbonate formation of the Bukhara-Khiva oil and gas region (BKhOGR), detailing its division into productive horizons of the Upper Jurassic complex and their facies variability. Particular attention is paid to rift massifs as the main hydrocarbon traps and the role of tectonics in their formation and location. The work analyzes in detail the facies of the XV subreef (Mubarek suite) and XV reef horizons, including deep-water, barrier-reef and back-reef deposits. The relationship between paleogeomorphology, tectonics and biological productivity, which determine the reservoir properties of rocks, is emphasized.
