THE ROLE OF SCHOLAR MAMAJON RAHMONOVICH RAHMONOV IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF UZBEK THEATRICAL ART

Abstract

This article is devoted to the analysis of the scholarly activities of the prominent Uzbek theater scholar and academician Mamajon Rahmonov in the field of studying the history and theory of national theatrical art. The paper examines the researcher’s scientific investigations focused on the formation, development, and historical stages of Uzbek national theater. In particular, based on his fundamental works Hamza and Uzbek Theater, History of Uzbek Theater, Uzbek Theater, as well as his articles and monographs dedicated to theater criticism, dramaturgy, and stage art, the article highlights his significant contribution to the development of theater studies.

The article also provides a detailed analysis of Mamajon Rahmonov’s contribution to the study of the creative heritage of Hamza Hakimzoda Niyoziy and his role in the development of Uzbek theater. The scholar thoroughly examined Hamza’s dramaturgy and theatrical activities, recognizing him as one of the leading figures in the formation of the national theater. Furthermore, the study analyzes Rahmonov’s activities in the field of theater criticism. It demonstrates that his articles and encyclopedic studies played an important role in shaping scholarly conclusions regarding the creative processes of Uzbek theater, stage culture, acting skills, and the development of national dramaturgy.
