AGING AND SOCIAL ISOLATION IN MODERN SOCIETIES

Abstract

This article will focus on the attention of the state to the elderly on a global scale, the perception of the state of loneliness as a social problem in the life of various societies, the factors of its occurrence and social consequences. It is known that until today the concepts of "old age" and "loneliness in old age" were considered as a socio-psychological phenomenon. But even now, since in most societies this issue is beginning to show various social and economic consequences, its study, the search for solutions to the problem have become one of the most pressing problems that have acquired a global character. In the article, the author believes that caring for lonely elderly people, providing them with medical services, expanding the quality and volume of social services, solving problematic issues related to nursing homes are the most urgent tasks in this regard.
