Most research on gender stereotypes concerning men is limited to comparing mean values across individual socio-demographic groups, leaving unanswered the question of which factors predict adherence to stereotypes when the remaining variables are held constant. This article presents the results of a hierarchical multiple regression analysis conducted on a sample of 836 respondents from six regions of Uzbekistan. The findings show that once the regional factor is included, the effect of education - significant at the descriptive level disappears statistically, which is explained by its confounding with regional affiliation. Sex retains a small but stable effect: women show somewhat higher levels of support for stereotypes than men. Age, number of children, employment status, and family type showed no predictive power. Regional affiliation accounts for more than 28 percentage points of additional variance and emerges as the dominant factor in the model.
