SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATIONS OF PREVENTIVE AND REHABILITATION ACTIVITIES IN SOCIAL WORK

The article analyzes the theoretical and methodological foundations of preventive and rehabilitation activities in social work. Prevention is considered as a comprehensive activity aimed at preventing social problems, risk factors and negative social phenomena, while rehabilitation is understood as a process of restoring lost or limited social functions and facilitating an individual’s reintegration into society. The study examines systemic, person-centered, biopsychosocial and rights-based approaches to preventive and rehabilitation activities. Particular attention is paid to current developments in Uzbekistan’s social protection system, the improvement of professional social services, the provision of social services at the mahalla level and the expansion of rehabilitation opportunities. The individual, family, group and community levels of preventive and rehabilitation activities are identified. The main functions of social workers and the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation are also analyzed. Based on the theoretical analysis, scientific and practical recommendations are proposed for improving individual social rehabilitation programs and preventive social work.
