PROMOTION OF WOMEN TO LEADERSHIP POSITIONS: BARRIERS AND OPPORTUNITIES

Abstract

The promotion of women to leadership positions has been recognized by international organizations and states as an effective way to ensure gender equality in society. Research has shown that women in leadership positions not only ensure equality in society, but also contribute to improved performance. In this article, we examine the obstacles that arise when women are promoted to leadership positions and the measures used to overcome them. The findings indicate that the practice of ensuring the advancement of women to leadership positions based on the principle of equality, diversity and inclusivity is widespread in the world. The position and roles of women, as well as the attitude that has been formed towards them in society, differ in different countries. The main role is played by such factors as stereotypes and the typical lifestyle of the studied society in this process. At the same time, during the analysis, it was found that the effectiveness of reforms and measures implemented by the state is directly related to the level of development of society, the readiness to adopt new reforms, as well as the value system of this society.
