Abstract

This article reflects the steps taken towards civil society in the Republic of Uzbekistan and abroad by ensuring inter-religious tolerance, including the socio-political mechanisms of the principles of tolerance reflected in the universally recognized norms of UN and international law. The article also analyzes the existing practical procedures on freedom of conscience and religious tolerance in a number of European countries, including France, Germany, England, the Netherlands, and other countries, as well as in the United States, based on historical and modern conditions. In addition, it is emphasized that the active social policy pursued in recent years with regard to religious tolerance in our country for Uzbekistan to become a truly liberal and democratic state must comply with international conventions and resolutions of international law on religious freedom.
