OPPORTUNITIES AND RISKS OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE ELDERLY

Abstract

This scientific article analyzes the possibilities and risks of digital technologies for the older generation. Digital technologies, including the Internet, mobile applications, and online services, have increased the ability of older adults to strengthen their social connections, enable them to live independently, and access education and health care. The elderly have the opportunity to connect with different parts of the world, engage in their interests and hobbies, and update their knowledge through the Internet. The article also focuses on the risks associated with digital technologies. These risks include cyber-attacks, information security issues, insufficient digital literacy and social isolation. Cooperation of the state, public organizations and family members is important for the effective use of digital technologies for the older generation, self-awareness, knowledge enrichment and social activity. This article proposes measures to increase the use of digital technologies for the older generation and their socio-economic activity.
