KOREAN FOOTPRINT IN CONTEMPORARY MUSIC OF UZBEKISTAN: A SOCIOCULTURAL STUDY

Abstract

This article examines the social aspects of the work of contemporary composers of Uzbekistan
in the interweaving of the appeal to the folk song heritage of the Korean diaspora in Uzbekistan. The
study of the interaction of Uzbek-Korean cultures is analyzed from the point of view of historical
factors of development and assimilation of Korean culture in Uzbekistan, as well as by the method of
musical analysis of the piano rhapsody "Arirang" on Korean themes by Akmal Safarov. The
conducted analysis allows us to identify complex specific, typological and similar features of the
synthesis of two cultures, as a formative source of rapprochement and strengthening of spiritual and
friendly ties of the multinational people of Uzbekistan. The work attempts to demonstrate, using the
example of traditional and modern music of Uzbekistan, the interaction and mutual enrichment of
musical cultures of various peoples living in the republic, as part of the processes of cultural revival.
