Maqolada Qozog‘iston, Qoraqalpog‘iston, Qirg‘iziston, Tojikiston va O‘zbekistondagi urug‘-qabilaviy va qarindoshlik tuzilmalarining qiyosiy sotsiologik tahlili beriladi. Strukturaviy funksionalizm, jamoaviy xotira nazariyasi, ijtimoiy tarmoqlar tahlili va raqamli sotsiologiya yondashuvlari asosida qarindoshlikka asoslangan identikliklar postsovet davlat qurilishi, urbanizatsiya va raqamlashtirish sharoitida qanday saqlanib qolayotgani va o‘zgarayotgani o‘rganiladi. Uchta traektoriya aniqlandi: institutsional barqarorlik (Qozog‘iston, Qirg‘iziston), moslashuvchan oraliq holat (Qoraqalpog‘iston, Tojikiston) va strukturaviy transformatsiya (O‘zbekiston). Urug‘-qabilaviy mansublikning fuqarolik va raqamli mansublik bilan yonma-yon mavjudligini tushuntirish uchun «qatlamli identiklik» tushunchasi taklif etiladi. Modernizatsiya nazariyasi bashoratlaridan farqli ravishda, urug‘-qabilaviy tuzilmalar yo‘qolmadi, balki moslashuvchan ijtimoiy resursga aylandi.
