QR CODES IN THE PROCESS OF TEACHING HISTORY: OPPORTUNITIES, PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS FOR APPLICATION IN UZBEKISTAN

Abstract

The article analyzes the possibilities, problems and prospects of using QR codes in teaching history in the 21st century, when digital technology is booming. One of the ideas of the article is the importance of digitizing the higher education system in Uzbekistan. The relevance of this issue is dictated by the society’s need in specialists with professional growth desire, with ability to navigate in the flow of information, who able to independently improve their knowledge and skills in all conditions of transformation. In this context, the article is devoted to the innovative organization of historical education and QR code technology introduction into it.

 The article gives QR code definition, considers the possibilities of its application in the historical education system. Along with this, emphasized the digital technology advantages and potential. Has been done seminar’s analysis on the Uzbekistan history with using QR codes and has been shown practical, educational and methodical, and educational significance of this lesson.

In addition, have been studied a number of problems that hamper this learning format: limited access to Internet and Wi-Fi in many higher education institutions, a small number of teachers with skills in using QR code technology, difficulty in preparing didactic materials, absence of necessary gadgets and mobile devices for the most of students. The author gives recommendations to address these shortcomings and makes suggestions to resolve this issue. In particular, introduction of digital technologies into educational process, development of mobile applications on historical topics, creation history textbooks with QR codes for the higher education system, as well as organization of advanced training courses for history teachers in order to develop their skills in working with digital technologies.

In the final part, we consider the issue of historical sources and textbooks digitalization that used in the learning process, creation textbooks with QR code and lessons enrichment with multimedia resources as a means of enhancing knowledge assimilation and motivation for learning.
