Abstract

ABSTRACT

Linguistics is one of the oldest sciences in the world. The Turkic peoples are of special importance to the world civilization because they produced such a great linguist and linguist as Mahmud Koshgari. Along with writing such an encyclopedic work as “Dictionary of Turkic dialects”, the scientist founded the historical-comparative paradigm, the methodology of language research, which has been in practice in world linguistics for almost 900 years. Until now, the scientific researches conducted on the Koshgari dictionary were almost all conducted on the basis of the methods discovered by our great ancestor and are still ongoing. In this small study, we will try to analyze the lexical units expressing the person and his qualities expressed in the work “Dictionary of Turkic dialects” based on new anthropocentric methods. In this, we will analyze the linguistic concepts that have been developing in recent years, including the linguistic and cultural concept that carries historical meanings, such as the work “Dictionary of Turkic dialects”, that is, the semantic features of linguocultures within the concept of “human”.

Key words: paradigm, language, linguistics, anthropocentric linguistics, Koshgari, “Dictionary of Turkic dialects”, human, land, person, concept.
