KIDNAPPING AND HOSTAGE-TAKING: THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE CRIMES

The article reveals the distinctive features of two criminal law norms: kidnapping and hostage-taking. The concepts of kidnapping and hostage-taking are analyzed. The distinctive features of the object of encroachment, as well as other features, are indicated. Two articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan are analyzed: 137 and 245, qualifying signs are indicated. The International Convention against Hostage-taking is mentioned, and some norms from this convention are disclosed. The opinions of several authors on the difference between the two compositions are studied.
