LIABILITY FOR VIOLATING LEGISLATION ON PERSONAL DATA: FOREIGN EXPERIENCE

This article discusses the issues of liability for violations of the legislation on personal data. The author emphasizes that studying the causes and conditions of crimes related to the violation of personal data laws, as well as understanding the causes and consequences of such violations, allows us to better understand the nature of these crimes and helps to combat them and prevent their occurrence. The author also highlights the liability for the unlawful collection, systematization, storage, modification, completion, use, transfer, dissemination, destruction of personal data, as well as actions involving information technologies, including the World Wide Web, when processing personal data of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan using technical devices located on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and in personal data bases registered in the state register of personal data. Failure to comply with the requirements for the collection, systematization, and storage of personal data leads to liability. The article also analyzes foreign experience in personal data protection and issues of liability in this area.
