IMPLEMENTATION OF INTERNATIONAL ELECTORAL STANDARDS INTO NATIONAL ELECTORAL LEGISLATION AND ITS DEVELOPMENT

This article examines the role and significance of international electoral standards, their implementation in the electoral legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Constitutional and legal guarantees of voters of the Republic of Uzbekistan, international electoral standards are analyzed on a legal basis. The author, on the basis of fundamental human and civil rights and freedoms, formulated the most important principles of electoral law. The basic elements of democracy, human rights and fundamental freedoms, as well as the principles of free and fair elections enshrined in the Basic Law of the country are revealed. The author pays special attention to the definition of such concepts as "gender equality", "subjects of electoral legislation", "ensuring the rule of law". The article analyzes international principles and standards in the field of electoral law, which have been consolidated in the norms of national legislation, issues of organization and conduct of democratic and free elections.
