ENSURING PROTECTION OF THE RIGHTS AND INTERESTS OF CITIZENS WHEN CHECKING THE LEGALITY, REASONABILITY, FAIRNESS OF A COURT VERDICT

The article provides some analysis of the new provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which were introduced by the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 27, 2023 regarding the institution of verifying the legality, validity and fairness of court decisions in criminal cases. Along with the study of new concepts of this institution and comparison of similar norms of legislation of foreign countries, the author offers an independent understanding of some provisions that should provide a guarantee of the protection of individual rights at the stage of review of court decisions. At the same time, proposals are made to improve this institution from the point of view of ensuring the stability and sustainability of judicial sentences.
