SCIENTIFIC AND THEORETICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ACTIVITIES OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS BODIES IN ENSURING PUBLIC SECURITY UNDER CURRENT CONDITIONS

This article provides a comprehensive scientific and theoretical analysis of issues related to ensuring public security under current conditions. In particular, it examines the new requirements imposed on the activities of internal affairs bodies in the context of globalization, rapid development of information and communication technologies, the growth of transnational crime, terrorism, extremism, as well as the increasing intensity of cyber threats. The article offers an in-depth analysis of the essence and content of such concepts as “current conditions,” “public security,” “public order,” “emergency situation,” and “special period,” based on national legislation and the scientific views of domestic and foreign scholars. Various scientific approaches to the understanding of public security are comparatively examined, and their common and distinctive features are identified.
