The article highlights the contribution of Prof. I. K. Mirzayev to the development of translation studies, his translation activities, and his translations of works from foreign languages, particularly his translation of Y. E. Bertels’ monograph Navoi. The article examines the significance of translations related to Navoi studies, the history of the creation of the monograph Navoi, the scholarly significance of Y. E. Bertels’ research, and the translation of this work into the Uzbek language. It also discusses I. K. Mirzayev’s activities as a translator, his role in establishing and developing the Samarkand School of Translation Studies, his translations from foreign languages, as well as his scholarly and theoretical views on translation.
