TRANSLATIONS OF PAK WAN-SO’S WORKS INTO RUSSIAN

The article is devoted to the issue of Russian translations of the early short stories by the contemporary Korean writer Pak Vanso done by Li San Yun, as well as the later-period stories translated by Tatyana Akimova. The article also provides information about the earliest cultural contacts between Russia and Korea and about works translated into Russian. It presents the views and assessments of Korean critics regarding the writer’s oeuvre. All of this helps clarify why this author has attracted the attention of not only Korean but also Russian readers.
